Checkpoints and recovery
Vector can wind a session back one request at a time. Rewind code + chat restores the files and the conversation to before the last request, and Move rewind forward restores the next one.
Rewind code and chat
Run Rewind code + chat from the command palette, or type /undo. If the agent is still working, Vector stops it first. It then undoes the file changes made since your last request, rolls that request and its replies back, and puts the request's text back in the composer so you can edit it and send it again. Run it again to go back further.
Move rewind forward, or /redo, brings back the next request and its changes. Rolled-back messages are listed above the composer, and Restore message on any of them brings the session forward to that point.
Review and merge
An agent in an isolated workspace works on its own copy of your repository. Review its diff, then approve individual hunks or files for a partial merge or merge everything. Vector scans the changed files for credentials first and stops the merge until you review anything it finds.
Every merge checkpoints your repository before it writes anything: Vector saves main's uncommitted changes as a patch and keeps a copy of each file the merge replaces. Commit all changes to main also records a git commit, which you can undo with git reset --soft HEAD~1.
To review a whole branch before you push, see Vectorscope.
