1. This agreement
These Terms govern your use of the Vector website, desktop application, command-line tools, and services provided by Krishna B / VectorDev.ai (“Vector,” “we,” or “us”). By accepting these Terms or using Vector, you agree to them. If you use Vector for an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to bind that organization. You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter into this agreement.
The Vector Software License also governs installation and use of the software. Third-party components remain subject to their own licenses, described in the Third-Party Notices. The Privacy Policy explains how information is handled. Nothing in these documents takes away rights that applicable law does not allow us to limit.
2. Your account and access
A free, verified Vector account is required for website downloads and the CLI. Provide accurate account information, protect your sign-in credentials and CLI tokens, and contact us if you suspect unauthorized use. You are responsible for people you authorize to use your account and for the access you grant to repositories, devices, and connected services.
3. Cost
Vector is free to download and use. Optional Vector Codium purchases provide credits for the coding models offered through Codium. Services you connect through your own accounts, including model providers, external agents and hosting, may charge you separately under their own terms. Free models are subject to quotas, rate limits and availability; continued free access is not guaranteed.
When Codium purchases are available, the purchase screen shows the price, the usage it includes as Codium credits or usage estimates, and whether the purchase is a monthly subscription or a one-time top-up. Any applicable taxes and the total payable are shown before payment. Monthly subscriptions renew automatically at the disclosed price until canceled. You can cancel through account billing before renewal; cancellation stops future renewals and leaves access to the remainder of the paid period. Monthly credits expire at the end of that period and do not roll over. One-time top-ups do not renew, and unused purchased credits carry forward separately from your subscription. There are no automatic top-ups or overage charges.
Codium credits measure usage of Codium's models; they are not a promise of a fixed number of tokens, requests, completed tasks or successful results. Usage figures, such as estimated tokens or typical tasks, are estimates, not commitments. Actual consumption varies with the selected model, input and output, reasoning, conversation history, repeated repository context, tool use and the number of agents or model calls. Large tasks and parallel agents can consume credits quickly. Your displayed balance may lag requests still being processed. Review usage and model selection in your account and supervise automated work. Access pauses when the available allowance cannot cover a request; additional use requires available credits or a new purchase you authorize.
To the extent permitted by law, accurately metered usage is not refundable solely because credits ran out sooner than expected, an estimate differed from actual usage, or AI output did not complete your task. This does not excuse incorrect charges, duplicate billing or a failure to provide purchased credits. Contact us about suspected errors so we can investigate and correct confirmed billing errors. Any refund, cancellation, service guarantee or other consumer right required by applicable law continues to apply. Credits have no cash value and are not transferable, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
Changes to subscription prices or renewal allowances will be communicated before they apply, with an opportunity to cancel and any consent required by law. Records of purchases are retained as required by law.
4. Your content and AI output
You retain your rights in prompts, repositories, files, and other material you provide. Vector does not claim ownership of your content or generated output. You authorize us and the service providers used by your selected features to process that material as needed to carry out your requests and provide the service, as described in the Privacy Policy. You must have the rights and permissions needed to provide the material and direct those actions.
AI output may be inaccurate, insecure, incomplete, or similar to material generated for someone else. Ownership, copyright protection, and permitted uses of output depend on applicable law, source material, and the relevant provider's terms. Review code, licenses, factual claims, security, tests, and deployments before relying on output. Vector does not provide legal, medical, financial, or other regulated professional advice.
5. Tools, automation, and computer use
Vector can read, create, edit, and delete files; run commands and processes; use a browser; operate connected services; and carry out background or scheduled tasks. Depending on enabled features and permissions, it can also capture a selected screen or window and control mouse and keyboard input. Actions may affect real accounts, shared repositories, infrastructure, or production systems and may cause charges or disclose information.
You control the instructions, permissions, and integrations you enable. Standing approvals and automated workflows can allow actions without asking you again for every step. Grant only authority you possess, review permissions and intended destinations, and supervise sensitive work. Keep independent backups and verify changes before publishing, merging, or deploying. Permission prompts, checkpoints, and protective controls reduce risk but cannot guarantee that every unintended action will be prevented or reversible. Stop computer use and take over when private information or a sensitive action is involved.
6. Providers, plugins, and external runtimes
Models, MCP servers, plugins, browser destinations, cloud providers, and external coding runtimes are separate services. This includes the model providers you connect and runtimes such as Claude Code, Codex CLI, and Cursor Agent. Their terms, privacy practices, permissions, availability, and charges apply to your use of them. Using Vector does not grant rights to their paid services or imply endorsement or affiliation.
Review the provider and account used by each task. A connected tool or runtime may transmit repository context, keep its own records, or perform actions under its own permission settings. You are responsible for your agreements with those providers. We do not control their independent changes or outages.
Free models inside of Vector are offered by OpenRouter and the providers that serve them, under their terms, which can limit use to adults, to tools such as coding agents, or to content that is not confidential. Some of those providers may log prompts and use them to train their models. Vector labels such models “May train on your prompts” and, from desktop 1.99.109 and the next CLI release, asks you to accept that once before sending your first prompt to one. Vector leaves out free models whose terms bar this use, such as NVIDIA's trial endpoints. Vector itself never trains on your prompts.
7. Publishing and cloud resources
Publishing can upload files, build artifacts, configuration, or other selected content to a hosting provider and make it publicly accessible. Check the content and access settings before publishing; do not upload secrets or material you lack permission to disclose. You are responsible for the content you publish and for cloud resources and charges you authorize. Deleting your Vector account or uninstalling Vector does not automatically delete deployments or cancel separate provider subscriptions.
Where Vector-hosted public session sharing is available, publishing requires your explicit consent and makes the visible transcript accessible to anyone with the link. You choose whether later conversation updates are public; separately remembered consent can authorize automatic publication of future sessions when automatic sharing is enabled. Review the transcript and disclose only material you have permission to make public. The link expires within 30 days, and successful unsharing or account deletion removes Vector's live public copy. This does not erase service-provider backups immediately, copies recipients saved, or historical shares published on the former third-party service. The Privacy Policy explains the content, consent, retention, and removal controls. Permission to host a public transcript does not transfer ownership of your content to Vector.
8. Acceptable use
Do not use Vector to violate law or another person's rights; access systems without authorization; distribute malware; commit fraud; harass or exploit others; steal credentials or confidential material; evade security or usage controls; or disrupt our services or connected providers. Do not share CLI tokens or account credentials, or misrepresent another person's identity or your authority. Software restrictions remain subject to applicable law and the rights granted by third-party open-source licenses.
Notwithstanding general software or control restrictions, LGPL-covered components and combined works containing them may be modified for your own use and reverse engineered to debug those modifications, to the extent required by the applicable LGPL version. You may also use modified or replacement libraries and replacement or relinked builds as required by that license. These Terms do not limit those rights or grant additional redistribution rights in Vector-owned materials beyond the applicable third-party license.
9. Usage data
The desktop application and the command-line tool send usage counts to Vector, including token totals,
recorded model cost, and the models and providers used, as described in the
Privacy Policy. Usage counts never include your prompts, code, or files, and
you can turn them off at any time: Settings → General → “Share usage counts” in the desktop application,
or VECTOR_DISABLE_USAGE=1 for the command-line tool. Vector may use usage data to operate,
secure, and improve the service, and may share aggregated, de-identified statistics, such as the number of
active users, tokens processed, or popular models, with investors, partners, and the public.
10. Availability and changes to the service
Features and compatibility may change, and maintenance or provider outages may interrupt service. Experimental features may be less reliable. No service-level commitment applies unless separately agreed in writing. We may issue updates for security, compatibility, or functionality.
11. Suspension and termination
We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to address fraud, a material breach, a security threat, or a legal requirement. Where practicable, we will explain the reason and allow you to resolve a remediable breach. Urgent security or legal circumstances may require immediate action. You may stop using Vector or delete your account at any time. Ending access does not transfer ownership of your content to us or automatically remove local data or third-party resources.
12. Warranties and responsibility
To the extent permitted by law, Vector is provided “as is” and “as available,” without implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or noninfringement. We do not promise that output will be accurate or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. This paragraph does not exclude statutory quality guarantees or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
To the extent permitted by law, neither party is liable to the other for indirect, special, or consequential losses arising from this agreement. Vector's aggregate liability for claims arising from the service is limited to the greater of the amounts you paid Vector in the 12 months before the claim or US$100. These limits do not apply to fraud, willful misconduct, or any liability that applicable law prohibits limiting, and do not limit your non-waivable consumer rights.
13. Disputes and general provisions
Contact us first so we can try to resolve a concern. This does not prevent you from contacting a regulator, seeking urgent relief, or bringing a claim in a court available to you under applicable law. These Terms do not require arbitration or waive class actions. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. A delay in enforcing a provision is not a waiver. Provisions concerning ownership, liability, and disputes survive termination where their nature requires it.
14. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms prospectively. Material changes will be identified by a revised effective date and communicated through the service or an account contact where appropriate. We will obtain consent when required by law. Changes do not retroactively remove accrued rights or resolve an existing dispute. If you do not agree to a future change, you can stop using the affected service, subject to your statutory rights.
